NaNoWriMo Winner!

I reached 50,000 words today of the first draft of my novel, See You In September!

I also contributed to support their writing programs for children and adults.

At 33,318 Words at NaNoWriMo

I'm on course to complete my 50,000 words by the end of November for the National Novel Writing Month. Even more satisfying is that I hit my plot point planned for 33,000. It must be good, because it feels so right!

I'm at the point where the girlfriend returns from her European vacation, newly sophisticated.

Here's a brief synopsis of the story See You In September:

A newly sophisticated girlfriend only adds to the challenges Manny must overcome to control his life: non-present father, jealous mother and her boyfriend.

Writing Along

The month is moving along and so are my fingers tapping away at my story: "See You In September". So far I've written 17,789 words. My average daily production is just under the recommended 1667. The goal is 50,000 at the end of the month of November.

Benefits so far include:

Winging it (the story)

Expanding and improvising the story

Getting into the emotion of scenes
